What you get: From tthe best modmakers we have with their kind permissions addons in weapons, clothes and many more nice features.
Thanks go to R@S, Wilson, Confus and Bullet Six (Blue Dawn team) and for Glitch who made the "Real Soldier" looking like soldiers.

FinnBat (thatīs me...) have made most of gameplay adjustments and new textures for tanks, trucks, weapon and ammo values and menus.
The idea is to put you is bad situations, very bad. I say again; VERY BAD !
AI behaviour is totally different that it is in vanilla version. They crawl and seek for cover. They flank, rush, sneal and wait.
I hate them ! But this is what I want from a WARGAME !

What is the mod: Totally new music in game from professional orchestra, the music is under my license
so you can use it when playing this mod.
(attached in the music directory you find terms in .pdf file)

New opening screens, computer screen etc.

AIM-Mercs are a professional team and the company has made very well money in the past years and fields.
They send the members well dressed to missions and there are snipers, assaulters, mech, demolition and medics.

Items in the game (first-aid kits and weapon kits...etc.) all work much longer and more realistic.

Bobby Ray is more professional and supply you much better.

There are really much more enemy on the field now.
And worst (or best...) is that they are really bad-ass professionals now. All caution have to taken care or... you die fast !
Enemy soldier can/and must now be looted. You must learn to live from the earth.
Use their weapons against themself and conquer. Ignore it and loose.

You will be helped much more by the merchants. They have now more to sell to you and they buy more from you.

What else is new ? You have to find it by yourself... go and get them !

Uppgrade to 1.1

The 1.1 release have new weapon and ammunition files.
After many hours of testing and researching I found the perfect formula for snipers in the game.

I used WilsonMG (Blue Dawn) formulas and also BlackAlphas
(Firearms Rebalanced Experimental) formulas in my own way.
I liked the of the ideas those guys have found. But then my own experiences
as a Recon Team sniper (Finish Paratroopers, long range, RecBatt)
I felt long time ago that, in this game the sniper are not working as in reality.
Now I had finally time for this testings with these values.

We also have a nice video of these tests and go for yourself and watch it. You will find it from AddMeGamers Youtube

Now I also want to tell you that the difference with headshots and shots to torso are making the realism. And it
is how it works in real world also. I am very happy I found right values so you also can enjoy role-play a real sniper.

There is also a new background video. I encourage you to sometime just sit and listen to the new nice music
we have in game and watch the video in background. It is a video from CIA satellite spycamera which was
hacked. Place is unknow, but it is from Arulco.

There is also a new background for the in-game laptop.

The 2.0 release have many new configs files as the game was patched a major patch (1.13)

The style is again very hard, you get alot of enemy and they are bad, very bad.
I have test played this now for few hours and it is so great when using the FOW on.
(enemy is not seen if you really dont see them)

This version has a new music set. I hope you love it as much as I do.
The name of the musician guy is Matthew Pablo and he is doing a great job.

Downloading it now, my thanks to the uploader and the team of modders who made this.

Rapidshare limits me to 30KB/sec while with hotfile the download speed reaches a stable download speed of 255 KB/sec.

I've been playing the mod for a little more of an hour or so and I'm lovin' it!
One minor issue, in some containers there's only 1 round of 5.56 ammo? I'm not sure if that's supposed to be.

@GemAye, nice to hear you like it !

And, yes there was error in the file and those ammo just show one round.
This is now corrected in uppgrade 1.1 so download it and continue where you were so far.

You will notice big difference in sniper actions. I found real nice formula to make the game react realistic to this issue (I am a sniper specialist myself...).

Has the update also solved the issue with finding two weapons instead of one on enemy corpses, one in perfect condition and the other in bad/very bad condition?

I haven't hired a sniper yet but I'm exited to hear that this mod is in the capable hands of someone with 1st hand experience! smile

edit 1: Oww ... and the hotfile links are 404 which is kinda bad for me as I can't use any torrent placed on the pirate bay anymore!

Well the double guns drop comes from the double items given to enemy.
This was/is the reason they drop usually one, when they have two.
But then it happens sometimes that they drop both, one broken and one unused.

Clean the fields to one container and then take the best from there.
You can leave the broken ones to container or repair them and sell with profit.

Idea is to make money.
Then use it to best gear you get.

Thanks for the mod. The only problem that I am having at this point is that when I am under attack in locations, the enemies spawn in, walk a few steps, then just stand there, being easy pickings for my snipers. I did not have this problem before the mod.

If there is any information that you need, I will be happy to provide. I am loving the mod and the music is superb.

I can play part of it but once I have my starting team selected and I try leaving the tactical map the game crashes. I thought it might be some changes I made to it so I used a clean copy of UltimateAIM but it still just closes to the desktop when I try to start the game. Any ideas what my cause that to happen?

So you mean when they are attacking they usually are very passive ?

I have not seen that in general on my defending battles. When I am remembering those few times something like this could have been in this sort of problem I maybe had 1 of 10 battles some kind of similar behaviour after the enemy have lost most of its attacking forces. They like freeze in fear, but in this game they cant run away like they could in JA2

Well, cant help you much in this. There is a file (which I havent changed...) where something could be done with the attack aggressivity. I heard it is not taken into account in the game, but I also heard that it is ?

I have to try play with it and see for myself how it affects ?

Do you have the original files in the bin_win32 directory ? The original install makes that directory and few files also in it. Someone else also had deleted those when he installed the mod files.

Normally these crashes happen when the program doent find some of files mentioned in the savegame or in the mercs gears or something is missing from the setup ? I had to re-instal my total game when I got so confused which mod I had and which I didnt and best was to just start all over from clean setup.

I deleted the original bin_win32 and just dropped yours in, think that was the issue as all the values I changed still worked with just Blue Dawn.

I've found some minor problems.

I also have noticed passive enemy behavior when soldiers attack a liberated zone.
Some enemy soldiers do move but when they are put down the rest of the soldiers just stand there,even when attacked.
It might have something to do with the merc's being out of visual range?
Militia however do seem to go look for the enemy.

The soldier patrols are still very small, like 6-8 soldiers attacking a town which is occupied with 20+ armed militia? Can you do something about the size of these patrols?
Also the soldiers in these patrols are very poorly equipped, some of these patrolling soldiers only have a knife.

In the mountain hideout where the rebel leader is, there are a lot of militia with the name "militia_recruit1" who seem to walk around in their underpants, yep Ira wanted to stay.

There's also some minor problems with the ammo.
For instance, the appearance of the 7.62x39mm and the 7.62x54mmR is the same.
Meltdown kept complaining in her own charming way about not having any ammo for her gun while I thought I had loaded her up with plenty.

Also, there's a lot, and I mean a lot, of 5.56x45mm around.
It seems almost everyone uses this ammo type which makes the other types kinda harder to get.
The Blue Dawn mod equips a lot of soldiers with the Russian-made weapons, maybe you can do something similar?

Well, that's about it so far.
If I noticed something else I'll post it.

I am sorry, but so far modders cant do anything with the patrol system. It is in the .exe program so we just have to wait for patches. The enemy starts to send better patrols when days go by.

I have not seen those militia_recruitis in underpants ? They seem to have pants in my machine.
But I will check this if there are something I could find from the characters text.
Well, it is nice for the girls.

Blue Dawn has those bad guys in russia style, but this mod "Real Soldiers" which we use i this mod are more towards western guns (professionals...)

Those are some sexy militia.

Anyway, it is good to see that I am not the only one with the being attacked problems. The passive attackers make all my landmine purchases redundant.

To finnbat, thanks for having a look. I have my fingers crossed, but my hopes aren't high. I may do a clean install and see if that changes anything.

Well I found the corrupted file.
Mystery as it, this file had two things wrong.
Militia lost their boots and level 1 lost trousers.

Now they have them all in this new file:

Download this and go to Steam\steamapps\common\jabia\bin_win32\configs
there you replace the old file with this new one.

The militia without boots is in vanilla, so you are not the one accidentally introducing that into the game.

Another minor issue is that random enemies with MAC-10 sometimes drop 7.62x39 ammo. Again, this, like the double gun drop is definitely not something I complain about (aka Good Bad Bugs).

The only other issue is that shotgun enemies are just too common in low level, but none of the higher level enemies carry shotguns, I sure wish the enemies using wider variety of weapons.

Hotfix to 2.1

Here is a Hotfix for those who wondered where all the names for guns are etc. Also the bonus with this hotfix is that you get total new interface (icons and pictures) made by MrRaven.

Weapons files are back to snipersettings which I have tested out and also all guns are now for sale at Bobby Ray.
The perceptions file was tested much and problem was you could not snip enemy like before from long distances.
Now you can with these new settings I like it. Back in business as to say.

Someone said that now there is much more loot that we can handle. Well, think about new militia system.
You need cash and i mean a lot of cash to uppgrade them. You are going to need all the loot and a team who is just transporting them to gun dealers.
I hope you like this Hotfix as much I did when finally had it running and tested it.

From years of hosting mod files for JA2, I can recommend mediafire and the skydrive that comes with WinLive accounts without reservations. They are easy to use, free, won't take down files and they don't annoy you with "wait 3 hours for a place in the download queue or buy premium".

Thankfully I have TOR installed, with that I was able to circumvent the hotfile.com 1 download per half hour rule (I cancelled a download and then it kept thinking I was still downloading ... ).

To stay offtopic widegrin I'm actually in love with dropbox.com. Yeah, there's a small app to install, but it's clean and unintrusive, you might want to check it out, it certainly made my work easier, especially with all the patches I had to release this last week smile

Same goes for box.net which also has a sync feature now when you download a small app, you get more space there though.
And with the Box SimpleShare you even get some more nice features.

On topic question: I suddenly got the "tip of the day" in german language, not sure if it was my doing (pressing some odd key-combo?).
Also I noticed some ammo being dropped in combination of gun using other ammo types.

I've seen some other people complaining about this in the official forums, but I didn't understand how to reproduce it. Are the tooltips in german on a clean install? As for the ammo/gun drops, I don't know, never played with UAM mod, but you can check it out by yourself... Check for weapon id in weapons.txt, ammo id in ammunition.txt and then in main_characters.txt which enemy template drops the wrong combo and fix it.

As for box.com, looks nice, but I seem to get along better (transfer speed wise) with dropbox.com.

I have a bug with the mod.
Srat game is ok. But when I hire some new mercenaries they never arrive to the airport (I'm waiting for 4 days now). I try to hire some more but the problem still the same.

What's happen ?

Actually you can't order stuff from BR either. To fix this issue, open the main_locations.txt file, search for the "c8_drassen_airport" string, and then replace

To get a good install do I have to install version 1.0 + 1.1 + 2.0 + 2.2 or with 1.13 patch 2.0 + 2.2 are enough?
