STOMP + HAM 3.5 + WF + AIM http://www.mediafire.com/?mnejtnyodh3
- STOMP v1.0A (PLEASE NOTE that STOMP mod is still an Alpha version, so expect bugs, also please use the new exe file by CptMoore (download link below - installation)
- HAM 3.5
- Wildfire 6.06 Mod SVN@3310
- Alpha Item Mod v46 + Mapupdate 20090909

HAM 3.5 + WF + AIM http://www.mediafire.com/?kn2d3xqxmem
- HAM 3.5
- Wildfire 6.06 Mod SVN@3305
- Alpha Item Mod v46 + Mapupdate 20090909

HAM 3.6a + WF + AIM http://www.mediafire.com/?nviiwteygjm
- HAM 3.6 Alpha v6
- Wildfire 6.06 Mod SVN@3305
- Alpha Item Mod v46 + Mapupdate 20090909

--------------
Installation:
--------------
1. Install JA2 with the 1.06 patch, or JA2 Gold

2. Install 1.13 mod:
a) For STOMP + HAM 3.5 + WF + AIM
Use the Single Click Installer "JA2 1.13 3287 exe SVN@1203 Full"
- Extract it to your JA2 root folder, overwriting all files.

b) For HAM 3.5/3.6a + WF + AIM
Use the Single Click Installer "JA2 1.13 3111 exe SVN@1194 Full"
- Extract it to your JA2 root folder, overwriting all files.

3. Run one of these installers ("SCI_STOMP_HAM3.5_WF_AIM.exe ", "SCI HAM 3.5_WF_AIM.exe" or "SCI HAM3.6a_WF_AIM.exe") and extract to your root JA2 folder, and overwrite all files.
- IMPORTANT: If you're using the SCI with STOMP, download the new exe file by CptMoore --> DOWNLOAD and extract it to your JA2 root folder. It fixes some nasty bugs, so be sure to have it.

4. a) For use with STOMP -> Run the game with the new "JA2_1.13_STOMP1.0ALPHA_HAM3.5_COVER_PATCHED.exe"
b) For use without STOMP -> Run the game with "JA2_With_HAM_3.5.exe" or "JA2_With_HAM_3.6_Alpha.exe", depending on which HAM you use.

PLEASE NOTE:
- I recommend playing on Expert or Insane difficulty, otherwise the game gets too easy latter on.
- You should play with the Realistic game style, due to some issues with the AIM mod (refer to the AIM thread)
- You MUST play with the Tons of Guns item setting because of staring gear in the AIM mod, otherwise you'll have issues
* For STOMP use:
- By default the STOMP mod has militia training set as it was in vanilla JA2(training in all town sectors - 2 mercs per sector - including the new sectors from WF)
If you want to have HAM facilities go to \Data-HAMSTOMP\TableData\Map and extract "Facilities HAM Defaults" to that same folder and overwrite.
- "WF changes the basic color palettes for soldiers so they can look different. However, this makes the IMP color choosing for your characters work wrongly. If you get another color of your clothing than you have selected on IMP creation, try messing around with different color choices to get the one you want. If you want to have the original colors in WildFire, delete file "ja2pal.dat" in "BinaryData" directory you find in data-HAMSTOMP" (quoting Sandro)
---------------------------------------

Contains my custom made Ja2_Options.INI:

For STOMP + HAM 3.5 + WF + AIM:

Warning, Spoiler:
---------------------------------------------------------
Ja2_Options.INI file for STOMP + HAM 3.5 + Wildfire + AIM
---------------------------------------------------------
15.01.2010. by goc_man

This is my INI optimized for playing the combo of STOMP v1.0A, HAM 3.5, Wildfire and AIM. I wanted to make the INI as close as possible to the default Wildfire one, but since a lot of settings overlap (default Wildfire vs HAM vs STOMP), I had to make a balance between them. The ones like starting cash, game progress, enemy garrisons, group sizes, militia traing costs and alike are all set to wildfire defaults to keep the original Wildfire mod campaign. All settings related to mercs themselves are set to STOMP defaults. As far as HAM goes, its default is to have mobile militia instead of veteran, so I made it this way for this combo as well.

So basically, I started with a default Wildfire mod INI, and changed/added according to STOMP/HAM

Here's a list of notable settings:

NOVICE_AP_BONUS = 0..........|--> Please note that STOMP assigns traits to enemies. Traits like Deputy/Squadleader
EXPERIENCED_AP_BONUS = 0...| already add extra AP's to enemies, and If a few of them have the Athletics trait
EXPERT_AP_BONUS = 5..........| your enemies could have like 200 AP's if the default Wildfire settings would be used,
INSANE_AP_BONUS = 5..........| so I reduced these (remember that default WF settings were 0, 10, 20, 30)

MIN_ATTRIBUTE_POINT = 35....|--> I changed these to STOMP defaults because of the new STOMP trait system
MAX_ATTRIBUTE_POINT = 85...| (for example max 90 atribute points for IMP seems too much since Sandro's
IMPATTRIBUTEPOINTS = 50.....| mod is not originaly intended for Wildfire - the new traits already make
MAX_ZERO_BONUS = 15.........| the mercs stronger and Wildfire settings added to this would make them too strong)

ENEMY_INVESTIGATE_SECTOR = FALSE
- most players don't like this feature so I turned it off (besides, STOMP default is FALSE)

ENEMIES_ITEM_DROP = 1 (STOMP default)

TRAIN_VETERAN_MILITIA = FALSE
- Because mobile militia is enabled I think veteran militia makes the game too easy

MUST_TRAIN_MOBILE_MILITIA = TRUE
- to enable HAM mobile militia properly

MINIMUM_MILITIA_SQUAD_SIZE = 5
MAXIMUM_MILITIA_SQUAD_SIZE = 20
- default HAM settings

RESTRICT_ROAMING = TRUE
- to enable Dynamic Roaming Militia (STOMP has this FALSE, but TRUE is a HAM Recommended Value, and I don't see why you'd have it to FALSE if you use mobile milita)

MIN_RATING_TO_TEACH = 25 (STOMP default)

ALWAYS_USE_PROF_DAT = TRUE (STOMP default)

All HAM settings are copied from the default STOMP INI.

Also, I deleted all setting no longer needed in Ja2_Options.INI (because they were put into the game itself - like MAX_IMP_CHARACTERS, ENABLE_ALL_TERRORISTS = TRUE...)
-----------
PLEASE NOTE that this INI is made for use with mobile militia, and has veteran militia disabled (in default Wildfire mobile militia is disabled, while veteran militia is enabled).

If you wish to have veteran militia, as in the default Wildfire mod, you can do this by setting TRAIN_VETERAN_MILITIA to TRUE.

Then to balance things out, I recommend disabling mobile militia - do this by changing the following values:
ALLOW_MILITIA_MOBILE_GROUPS --- set to FALSE
MUST_TRAIN_MOBILE_MILITIA --- set to FALSE

Also NOTE that once you don't have any roaming militia which would normaly scout ahead, you won't be able to detect enemy groups further away from any cities. This is due to a HAM feature. The HAM facilities will detect around cities, but you won't know about enemies further away and near your mercs. So you might want to set NO_ENEMY_DETECTION_WITHOUT_RECON to FALSE
For HAM 3.5 + WF + AIM:

This is my INI optimized for playing the combo of HAM 3.5, Wildfire and Alpha Item Mod.
It's based on the default Wildfire INI (SVN revision 3305), with the following changes:

ENEMY_INVESTIGATE_SECTOR = FALSE
- most players don't like this feature so I turned it off

TRAIN_VETERAN_MILITIA = FALSE
- Because mobile militia is enabled I think veteran militia makes the game too easy

MUST_TRAIN_MOBILE_MILITIA = TRUE
- to enable HAM mobile militia properly

MINIMUM_MILITIA_SQUAD_SIZE = 5
MAXIMUM_MILITIA_SQUAD_SIZE = 20
- these are default settings from HAM 3.5

RESTRICT_ROAMING = TRUE
- recommended setting in HAM - to enable Dynamic Roaming Militia

GUN_RANGE_TRAINING_BONUS --- REMOVED
MAX_MILITIA_TRAINERS_PER_SECTOR --- REMOVED
- these settings are not needed needed in HAM 3.5

+ Added all recommended HAM 3.5 settings to the end of the INI. I used default "Maximum HAM" settings.
-----------
PLEASE NOTE that this INI is made for use with mobile militia, and has veteran militia disabled (in default Wildfire mobile militia is disabled, while veteran militia is enabled).

If you wish to have veteran militia, as in the default Wildfire mod, you can do this by setting TRAIN_VETERAN_MILITIA to TRUE.

This is my INI optimized for playing the combo of HAM 3.6a, Wildfire and Alpha Item Mod.
It's based on the default Wildfire INI (SVN revision 3305), with the following changes:

ENEMY_INVESTIGATE_SECTOR = FALSE
- most players don't like this feature so I turned it off

MUST_TRAIN_MOBILE_MILITIA = TRUE

RESTRICT_ROAMING = TRUE

GUN_RANGE_TRAINING_BONUS --- REMOVED
MAX_MILITIA_TRAINERS_PER_SECTOR --- REMOVED
- these settings are not needed needed in HAM 3.6a

+ Added all HAM 3.6a settings. I used defaults from HAM 3.6a v6.

Only change I made in HAM settings is:
READ_PROFILE_DATA_FROM_XML = FALSE
- to have proper Wildfire mercs
-----------
PLEASE NOTE that this INI is made for use with mobile militia, and has veteran militia disabled (in default Wildfire mobile militia is disabled, while veteran militia is enabled).

If you wish to have veteran militia, as in the default Wildfire mod, you can do this by setting TRAIN_VETERAN_MILITIA to TRUE.

Uh, excuse my lack of knowledge, but how does using this installer here differ from using the release 1.0.0.1080 (available on the JA2 wiki) and then updating it using the instructions provided in the "How to use SVN" thread elsewhere?

Do the end results differ, or is this just the same process with less clicking and downloading?

This just installs 1.13 for you. You don't have to copy and paste files. And if you also use SVN it should update just fine.

Well thanks but I prefer women.

Glad to see its working well.

I uploaded the SVN 926 patch. Same procedure for installation.

I will upload regular updates to coincide with exe releases and SVN updates. They may lag behind a little (a day or two) to see if any game breaking bugs appear.

well, omerta is the normal starting sector. if the map is an airport, then you might have different maps installed, check the folders data/maps data-1.13/maps or data-UC/maps

if any of these exist... then you have more than what you might want right now.

btw against the endless clock, you can usually hit escape to abort the faulty cut scene.

i don't know. This depends on where they are and what else from UC you have installed.

if you're ja2.ini points to data-1.13, then you have to see that the "data" as well as the "data-1.13" folders are free from any other mods.

if you have the ja2.ini point to a different custom data folder location, you might only have to edit the .ini file.

Hi,

I recently started playing JA:DG again after stumbling across DosBox which lets me play multiplayer across the net (genius!), and then one thing led to another and now I've discovered the 1.13 mod for JA2 which looks incredible and definitely warrants another play through of the campaign. I haven't touched JA2 since UC was released a few years back so this was a nice surprise to see how much things have progressed. Anyway, since I'm new to all this SVN stuff the one-click installer is a godsend for someone like me, so thank you!

Just a few random noob queries if I may:

-Kaerar's site seems to still have the 922 version of the SVN exe, despite the comment above that the 926 patch had been uploaded. Could someone clarify?

-Is there a mod called Guns, Lots of Guns for 1.13? There is a page of 1.13 mods here (http://www.ja-galaxy-forum.com/board/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=128044&page=1#Post128044) that mentions it, but the link doesn't go anywhere.

-Are there some 'must have' mods for 1.13 that everyone tends to use? It looks like the inventory mod is popular so I will try that. Any others?

Thanks!

- take the 1.13 from the first post here and put it over vanilla ja2
- install New Inventory from here: http://ja2.h758491.serverkompetenz.net/NewInventory/ on top of previous
- optional you can install the minimod in my signature, on top of previous.

That's all you need to know to start playing a stable, high end version of what was once "jagged alliance 2". \:\)

EDIT: The "lot of guns" is probably DBB mod, I asked the same first time here. If you want more a new game, put the Dbb too. For a closer experience to vanilla ja2, install only the ones above.

Thanks for the info. I will try with 1.13, NIV and your Badass mod.

Could you point me in the direction of a link to the DBB mod or some info on it? I can't find mention of it anywhere on this site or anywhere else. Cheers.

@ Kaerar: thanks mate, that´s a much needed and comfy thing to have!

finally, we can start distributing the whole mod via filesharing networks and download sites.
also, some game magazines might be interested to put this on their sites and DVDs.

one thing i would suggest though, ist to incorporate an extensive FAQ and explanation file and one HTML file, which has the links to the download sites and this forum, as well as the note that we are serching for new coder, modder and graphic/animation/sound artists to contribute to the project.

i promise you, it will have it´s effect for sure.

USE THE FORCE!

P.S.: one more thing: the faster we get an official V 1.0 stable release, the better we can distribute it. It´s a marketing thing. makes it easyer to draw attention to the Product if it seems halfway proper.

Sure can. When Kermi updates the FTP there will be a SVN 926 patch with all the relevant changes. I uploaded it a couple of days ago. The reason I made it 922 first was that 926 came out about 10 mins after I uploaded it \:\( If there isn't going to be an SVN update for a while I will replace it with the 926 full download I have ready here.

There is also an NIV install with the Woodland Camo background (only one I have ready atm) which is SVN 926 ready. Just need the FTP host to be updated. Also the Folders should be named correctly \:D

I will be uploading a full NIV install version later this week too.

If Dr-D would like to fix the 814 DBB XML's then I will upload a patch to install that in one go over the top of NIV too.

@Mauser, I would only do that for a full stable release of 1.13 and NIV. Once that is done then no probs I'll include a FAQ and Readme (in HTML) with weblinks to here for mods for it too.

@Munger, DBB mod thread is here

There's a new SVN version (928) that will be needed for the NewInv-Beta10. But you should probably wait before taking that into an installer, to see if bugs rear their ugly heads.

I will hold back for a day or so to see what happens. I also check the logs to see whats changed so if its items and pics, then usually no problems, if there are new exe's and multiple xml's then wait until a couple of testers report \:D

The full upload of NIV will be of the beta 10 exe and SVN 928 or higher (depending on bug reports)

I will upload a patch for the Tigerstripe interface as the stock will be Woodland camo.

The patch for 1.13 normal will be updated to SVN 928 and will NOT need earlier SVN patches to be installed over the current version.

When the next exe version of 1.13 is ready I will update the 1.13 full download.

Just uploaded:

SVN 1.13 928 patch (again you don't need the 926 patch before this)

NIV b10.1 928 patch Woodland

NIV b10.1 928 patch Tigerstripe

Currently uploading:

NIV + 1.13 b10.1 928 FULL

Kermi if you can put them up onto the server that would be great. Could you adjust the server to use the same folders and sychronise the folders ;\)

You can install DBB over the top of the 1.13 version using the standard, but unless DBB has been updated for 10.1 NIV then probably not with the NIV version.

Yeah use the 9.2 beta for DBB 8.14. Its still up as a 1.13 patch using the 926 xml's. It will stay up too as it will give people a base to come back to if they want \:\)

Try it without DBB mod. If it still happens I will have a look. Without DBB it seems to work fine on my machine. I don't use DBB so I cannot comment on whether it works properly or not.

Fair enough, but I don't support DBB mod. Unfortunately I have no idea why it crashes or how to solve the bugs associated with it. Those questions are better asked to D-Boy himself on the chinese forums. If there is a problem with the mod, I can almost guarantee its not the fault of the installers for 1.13 or NIV. Usually its conflicts within the XML files.

Pity. Maybe someone repair this bug. Maybe in next version DBB. We will see.
